At this time, Going to the Sun Road is not completely open due to fire. Our thoughts are with those evacuating and those working on the scene.
When people come to visit Glacier Park, they usually are excited to see bears, moose, or mountain goats. Often, the smaller creatures get overlooked. These moths are called Willow Sphinx and are ubiquitous here in the warmer months. They can get rather large, sometimes close to the size of a hummingbird. These moths are pretty cute if you can get past the fact they’re bugs. Look for their fuzzy bodies and pinkish underwings with “eyes” on them.
This big guy is now a resident of Glacier Park. Wave and say hi, but don’t invite yourself to dinner.
